With the aim to promoting corporate culture and bringing students closer to the world of work, more than 200 hours are dedicated annually by the company to the training of interns mostly with schools and universities.
From PCTOs to thesis research, SIFA Technology supports students who are mainly interested in the world of economics, as well as in chemistry, languages, humanities or computer science. But interventions are not neglected even in primary or lower secondary schools because “good citizens have been since childhood” agree the owners Simone Latini and Fabrizio Perini “so it is never too early to transmit congruous values and projects that bring to the reality in which they themselves already live “.
In SIFA Technology, culturally enriching the area in which the company develops is one of the parallel objectives for increasing economic well-being. To make this happen, SIFA makes its resources available to welcome secondary school and university students wishing to carry out an internship in the company, dedicating special attention to their training. The projects with which they join the Team are PCTO, Learning by Doing promoted by Confindustria Marche or through recognized academic merits.
Being a company that has an agreement with most local schools, universities and with the Bicocca University of Milan, many students are hosted every year to get to know directly what it means to work in the company and acquire skills that can be truly spent in future work experiences.
“Welcoming a student means both instructing him on the main company procedures and the tasks to be performed – explains Annalaura Perini, the company Tutor and Education Delegate of the Young Entrepreneurs of Confindustria Ancona – and suggesting how to improve its CV, how to face a job interview, and then to make known the business and market dynamics that revolve around the reality that we are about to know, to be of support to the various departments, up to concluding the path by presenting a company report. The goal is not only to give the opportunity to have a work experience but to train as completely as possible for any other future work experience, that’s why we start from self branding. During the PCTO, we also try to make the interns carry out very varied tasks at different offices, so as to offer them the opportunity to understand which are the areas of greatest interest and which one’s attitudes that best fit with the different roles , because the work on soft skills starts from a good knowledge of oneself and true knowledge comes from direct experiences “.
Training experiences that then often resulted in hiring, as in the case of a very young intern who, following a scholarship for a Master with SIFA, moved to Sassoferrato from Lombardy and for several years continues to work in the company developing with success one of the business units.
In addition, thanks to the fruitful collaboration with Confindustria Ancona, there are eight collaborative projects carried out by SIFA Technology with schools and universities during the last year. “The commitment we are demonstrating in this area – continues Perini – is functional to the necessary synergy that must exist between the theoretical preparation guaranteed by the world of education and the technical skills required by companies. In recent years, several MIUR projects have encouraged students to practise their skills, so in our opinion it is the duty of companies to offer time and resources to their development. We will gain from it in more qualified and more motivated workforce, as well as in a culturally more vibrant and rich environment”.
Just to mention some of the projects developed by SIFA Technology with Confindustria Ancona, we remember “Eureka”, which invites primary school children to create a toy prototype by becoming little engineers; at the ten-year “Impara ad intrapredere”, a simulated business project for high-school students; “Influencer of your life” which promotes social and individual responsibility concluded with hosting the winner of the contest for an internship; “Orientare al futuro” in which parents are informed about the possibilities after graduation or after secondary school, thanks also to the contribution of some employment agencies; Open Day in schools and interventions in university courses.
“The company as a social asset – concludes Perini – is the vision we have of our role in society and, in addition to supporting cultural activities and helping citizens, the training of students is an aspect that is very close to our heart and that we want to continue to cultivate with perseverance and passion “.
